Buying USDC in Mexico: SPEI, CURP and the current CLABE

For MXN-to-USDC, verify the updated CLABE before funding and inspect the withdrawal's USDC network and version. Comparing a generic dollar quote with a native-USDC transfer can hide a conversion step. SPEI is a peso funding step; it does not specify which crypto you receive. First check whether the provider can accept MXN for your account, then compare the asset conversion.

Buying USDC in Mexico: SPEI, CURP and the current CLABE

01Open an account

Account requirements

Bitso's MXN help requires a CURP on file for peso banking transactions. If you do not have one, its crypto-account access does not establish MXN funding eligibility. Check this before adding a bank beneficiary.

Ask whether the checkout buys USDC directly or first acquires another asset. If it uses USDT as an intermediate asset, there are two prices to inspect. USDT and USDC are different assets and should not be treated as a guaranteed one-for-one swap.

  • Use truthful residency and identity information.
  • Enable two-factor authentication before funding.
  • Confirm the asset and payment feature is available in the verified account.
02Deposit funds

Funding notes

Find the personal CLABE inside the logged-in MXN deposit screen. Bitso also documents CLABE changes: verify the number currently displayed instead of reusing an old beneficiary or copying a number from an email.

  • Pay only from an account in your own name.
  • Copy the current beneficiary and reference details.
  • Keep bank, card, or P2P order evidence.
03Fee breakdown

Total estimated cost

Record the MXN amount actually credited, then the final order's crypto amount. A free deposit does not remove conversion spread or withdrawal costs. Keep the same destination network when comparing two peso quotes.

Keep a record of local currency paid, intermediate asset received, conversion quantity and final USDC. Do not add a spread twice if it is already reflected in the final received amount. Compare direct purchase and conversion at the same time and budget.

Compare the same budget and destination network: (payment in MXN + additional payment charges) ÷ (final USDC received − withdrawal fee in USDC). Enter the amounts from the final preview in the calculator above. If keeping the asset on the platform, enter zero withdrawal fee. If received amount is no larger than the withdrawal fee, the transfer is not a usable route.

04Buy the asset

Buy the asset USDC

If a transfer went to an old CLABE, keep the bank receipt and use the provider's support process before sending a duplicate. When funds arrive, verify the exact crypto product and network: a dollar balance label alone is not a deposit address for USDT or USDC.

Circle distinguishes native USDC from third-party bridged versions. Match the destination's accepted network and token version; a similar ticker is insufficient. If the intended recipient accepts only native USDC, verify that the withdrawal produces that asset before buying.

  • Compare the executable price, not only the market headline.
  • Check every explicit fee and embedded spread.
  • Verify any withdrawal hold and the destination network before moving funds.
